PAA Qualified
PAA Coach Qualification

When I first seriously considered teaching and coaching I wanted to be sure I would do it right. I’m passionate about fishing and the future of this awesome sport, so when I made the decision to pass on my knowledge I wanted to do it properly. I want to offer my clients the best. I don’t just want to be paid for my time, I want to be sure I can give as much back as possible. To be sure I could do this I spent two weeks in the classroom on the PAA (Professional Anglers Association) level 2 course, – Was it worth it? What did I learn? Yes it was worth it and I learned how to teach in a variety of ways.
I’ve also supported and participated in charity and children’s fishing events, which has earned me a reputation for being a down-to-earth, fun and dedicated angler. I’m a people person with a hands-on approach. This course taught me an awareness of skills that complement my approach to teaching.
On the technical side I’m now confident with risk assessment and first aid. Also to my credit and by far the most important, I have full Public Liability insurance. This is a must if tutoring, especially with children, elderly or disabled people, and let’s be honest everybody in-between!
For those of you checking out Tutorials – check your tutor has insurance, Its as important to the angler as an unhooking mat is to the fish.

Where To Fish?

Where to have your tutorial

I have an in-depth knowledge of a vast array of waters that I have fished over the years. This knowledge I can now pass on to you. Listed are just a few of the waters that I have at my disposal which for various and different reasons make excellent tutorial waters.

Bury Hill Fisheries.
– Surrey’s Premier Coarse Fishery
Bury Hill Fisheries is part of a beautiful 22 year old estate, which lies at the foot of the Surrey Hills. Offering four lakes totalling 22 acres. 20 miles from central London, and just 15 minutes off the M25. Bury Hill is a haven of peace and quiet set amongst mature woodland in its own secluded valley. The complex also sports an on-site café. Ideal for 24-hour sessions.

Linear Fisheries Oxford
There are seven day-ticket waters at Linear Oxford and there is no limit to the time anglers can spend on them. Although referred to as day ticket-waters these lakes can be fished throughout the day and night and for any period of time – there is no close season. Anglers can move between waters on the same ticket. Also a shower and toilet block are on site.

Cemex Waters
I have 25-year history fishing on Cemex venues. Cemex has a massive portfolio of venues ranging from the hardest waters to the easiest to catch carp. They have something to suit everybody’s requirements.

Boyer Leisure – Ivor, bucks
Farlows Lake - A true all-year-round venue, producing in winter as well as summer. A large complex comprising a 25-acre main lake, a 5-acre match lake and a small heavily stocked junior pool. The venue also has a café, fully licensed bar, shower block with toilets. The main lake is made up of bays varying in size, islands, gravel bars of various sizes and depths cross the lake in all directions, small secluded areas provide ample opportunity for stalking. Stock includes over 25 carp over 30lb (up to the lake record 38lb 14oz) nearly two hundred carp over 20lb and hundreds of double figure fish. Also present are very large bream, tench and some impressive roach.

When I take you on a tutorial you get the lot, nothing is held back. All my secrets are shared with you. I promise you that what you learn from me will make you a better angler.
